WHERE THE
SOUND BEGINS.
The name looks back to New York's Paradise Garage, where Larry Levan's long sets moved freely between disco, soul, and new dance records. The club's influence was musical and communal, not a single production formula.
Across New York and New Jersey, including Tony Humphries' Zanzibar nights, singers and producers brought strong vocals and songcraft into house. Here, garage means the American house lineage, not the later UK garage style.
A warm, song-led floor: vocals, rolling bass, keys, and long DJ-friendly grooves.
